About Us
Lerner Wordsmith Press has taken the most tried and tested of products — the written word — and brought stunning innovation to how it can be adapted to and sold as books.
At the very core of Lerner Wordsmith Press is the Lerner concept of triangular platform integration. The first element, or base of the Lerner Wordsmith Press triangle, is words. Lerner Wordsmith Press publishes major novels. It also acquires the rights to unproduced but innovative motion picture screenplays and adapts them to short, easy to read novels or novellas.
The second element of the Lerner Wordsmith Press triangle: motion pictures. Lerner Wordsmith Press only adapts screenplays to which it has gained the motion picture rights.
The third element of the Lerner Wordsmith Press triangle: Web 2.0. Lerner Wordsmith Press utilizes the Internet to implement community based marketing strategies, digital downloads, and web-based retail sales. While none of the Lerner Wordsmith Press elements are unique unto themselves, it only takes a moment to recognize their unique synergy and leverage when combined — as described herein.
To fully understand Lerner Wordsmith Press, one must also consider the background of its founder, Stan Lerner. At the young age of 25, Mr. Lerner was proclaimed by the LA Times as “an entrepreneur extraordinaire.” This was in no small part due to the success of his first publishing venture, Lerner Publishing — which recognized more than two hundred million dollars in revenue during its first year of operation alone.
Mr. Lerner has since earned credits for a vast and diverse body of work — including the highly acclaimed literary work “LA Player” (now re-titled “Impact, The Book”), the Las Vegas music spectacle “Night Tribe,” and the motion picture “Meet The Family.” Mr. Lerner stands almost completely alone in the entertainment field — as a novelist (”Stan Lerner’s Criminal,” published in 2007, and “In Development,” published 2007) that has also been the writer, director, and producer of a motion picture with nationwide distribution. It is from this skill set of business acumen and artistic talent that Lerner Wordsmith Press has now been born.
Simply put, the workflow of Lerner Wordsmith Press is to publish major novels that it can adapt into screenplays — or, conversely, adapt unmade motion picture screenplays (which it owns the screen rights to) into short, easy to read, novels that are web/community marketed and sold via the Internet. Because the company’s founder is inimitably experienced as a writer/publisher and as a writer, director, and producer of motion pictures, Lerner Wordsmith Press is uniquely capable of doing what no other publisher has yet to endeavor: reverse engineer the motion picture/book adaptation continuum.
The Lerner Wordsmith Press Mission Statement is to only publish groundbreaking work, produced at the highest standard of quality. They must always be marketed knowing that buying a Lerner Wordsmith Press book should be as great an experience as reading one.
